Happy Medium is fast becoming a series of beach photos, but who am I to complain…
The weekend crew added Gary to the numbers and headed to my favourite place- Te Henga, or Bethells Beach. Another awesome weekend in what’s been an awesome summer!

New Years

gizzy22

After spending Christmas in on the Coromandel, a whole crew of us headed East, to Gisborne and the Rhythm & Vines festival. Gisborne is where a lot of NZ’s fruit and wine is produced, and the festival itself is on a vineyard. Think low flat ground, high skies, surrounded by cliffs and blue seas. The festival was a 3 day event and I had claimed free tickets as I had designed the stage scrims and graphics. Got to see some great acts, highlights included Santogold and Ladyhawke, but the real beauty was being bale to escape to the beach each morning for some R&R:

Christmas

beach08

This past week has been one of my best I think. I’ve had an incredible time exploring the north island with great company and it’s made for a superb Christmas. Esther was kind enough to invite me and my all American flatmate Sean to spend the holiday period with her family. The McDonalds have a beautiful home on Waieheke Island where we spent Christmas Eve. Then 10 or so of us headed out to the Coromandel (some by boat, some by car) to meet up with the extended family at the bach at Flaxmill bay. This is seriously one of the most beautiful and welcoming parts of the world I’ve had the pleasure of spending time in. All the McDonalds made Sean and I feel part of the family and we even got to spend a few nights out on a Yacht. The highlight for me was taking the dingy out to the yacht, only to see the water turn bright from the phosphorescence algae. If you want to see what this looks like check out this video
