Moving

I’m leaving my flat this week, or I should say my view. I’ve been here for over 6 months now, and while it’s been a very comfortable place to stay, I’ve been paying 220 bucks a week for a panorama of the Waitemata Harbour and the Hauraki Gulf Islands. It’s a view that would probably go for three times the amount in the UK, but here in Auckland it’s still on the high side. I’ll miss it.

I’m moving about a mile inland, at the meeting point of two of the main roads in Auckland – Ponsonby Rd and K Rd. This is where the bars, cafes and clubs are. I’ll be there for 6 months, time enough for me to decide what to do and where to go next…

Well if its any consillation Robs I loved that flat and the panoramic views of Auckland Harbour but not so the vertigo feeling when I looked down from your 16th floor flat to the ground – my legs are still shaking! Im sorry youre having to move but fully understand why, with the cost and what you will save plus you will be in a more social area which is something to get excited about. So bon voyage – another chapter in your life begins. Best of luck with the move and hope everything goes well and you settle in ok. Ill miss that view, still I saw it in real life and not as a photo like most did. Ah well life must go on. Speak to you soon.
    Bye for now
    Dad
