Reality Bites

I know the blog has been fairly quiet this past week. It’s been a case of sorting out a place to live, sorting out bills, opening a bank account (not that easy in NZ) and finding work, so the sights and sounds of New Zealand have been put on hold. My little nest egg is starting to eb away, so finding a design job is high on the list. Can’t wait to move into the flat on Monday. My birthday is coming up, so I’m thinking of doing a day trip somewhere along the coast.

Sarah sends her love to you. She does not have the internet, so she was asking all about NZ and how you were getting on. Don’t know if I told you, but the baby she is expecting in October is a girl. She is over the moon as she wanted a sister for Oliver.

Hi darling. Hope the move into your new flat went well and you are enjoying the view from 16 floors up. You have certainly slept in a few different beds since you left the UK !!! (Guess you know what I mean)……
Have you planned your birthday yet and your trip somewhere ??? It will be so strange not spending some time with you on your birthday, first time in 23 years eh? Spoke to the bank today, you were right, NZ would not recognise a cheque from the UK … we are not yet international are we ????
Let us have some photos of the new flat when you get the chance. Love mum xxx
